Modern wine displays are the latest trend in California’s design and construction scene, particularly in Denver. These rooms elevate the elegance of homes by displaying prized wine collections in a spacious, airy setting adorned with glass and metal elements. Coastal Custom Cellars specializes in creating these stunning displays, prioritizing capacity, functionality, and visual appeal. One notable project involved designing a sleek wine cellar within the kitchen area of a modern home.
Why Modern Wine Displays are Getting More Popular
The popularity of modern residential wine rooms utilizing underused spaces in homes for aesthetically pleasing additions has become a popular choice. These sleek wine cellars are gaining popularity among various individuals, including wine enthusiasts, retailers, restaurateurs, interior designers, contractors, and builders. Discover the numerous benefits of having an exceptional modern wine display in your home or dining establishment by exploring the completed projects by Coastal Custom Wine Cellars.
Add a Luxurious Feel to Any Space
Modern wine cellars redefine spaces by embracing simplicity through clean lines and neutral tones, steering clear of intricate designs. Whether designed for private collectors or business owners, the emphasis remains on both functionality and visual appeal.
The team creates minimalist wine cellars that add a touch of luxury to clients’ spaces. These bespoke displays can be integrated into various areas such as kitchens, entertainment spaces, dining rooms, or tucked beneath staircases. Collaborating with master builders like Coastal Custom Wine Cellars ensures the fulfillment of personalized requirements, guaranteeing a tailored wine room.
Metal and Glass Elements for a Sleek Wine Display
Metal wine storage systems are recommended for both residential and commercial modern wine cellars often paired with wooden racks to create a distinctive showcase. Careful planning and design result in a standout custom cellar that becomes a centerpiece in homes, restaurants, or wine stores.
The elegance and installation flexibility of modern wine racks from top manufacturers like VintageView, Ultra Wine Racks, Wine Cellars Designers Group, and Maiden Steel are highly regarded. Additionally, glass doors, whether seamless or framed with metal or wood, are ideal for providing a full view of the wine collection from the outside.
Modern Wine Displays Designed by Denver Master Builders
Coastal Custom Wine Cellars, known for their years of experience and expertise in constructing modern wine rooms, excel in creating designs that complement minimalist interiors. In a recent project, they completed a striking wine cellar beneath the stairs of a modern home. This cellar features stylish metal rod wine racks, a robust cooling system, a glass door, and custom LED lighting.
The client’s vision was a modern wine cellar, maximizing bottle storage while maintaining an impressive aesthetic. Coastal Custom Wine Cellars met this vision by installing durable 1/2-inch frameless tempered glass doors equipped with self-closing pivot hinges, creating an efficient and stylish design.
Adding a Modern Touch to the Wine Cellar Using Glass and Metal Elements
The glass door wine cellar features an impressive wine racking system with a modern touch. While it appears entirely metal, there is an interesting twist: the connecting parts between sections are made from Alder wood, giving off a metal-like look when finished with a dark stain.
For the metallic components, 1/2-inch stainless steel rods were used, providing a sleek and sophisticated shine to the wine bottle display.
This metal wine rack system includes horizontal racks capable of holding three bottles deep, offering an optimal fit for the under-stairs wine cellar. This setup strikes a perfect balance, accommodating plenty of bottles without difficulty accessing the ones at the back.
Between these horizontal racks, there are vertical reveal rows fitted with LED strip lighting. These lights brilliantly highlight the Reveal racks and wine bottle labels, enhancing their visual appeal. Using LED lighting is both functional and stylish for illuminating a contemporary wine cellar.
At the rack’s base, there is a designated area for storing cases, while a small section in the center of the cellar features a white acrylic LED back panel for decanting wines or displaying extra bottles. Additionally, small square shelves with white acrylic LED panels underneath are placed at each end of the cellar, perfect for storing larger bottles like magnums. Finally, the Coastal team designed a storage space directly beneath the stairs to accommodate more cases and bottles.
Awe-Inspiring Modern Wine Cellar with Unique Metal Racking
The recent glass wine closet project was a hit. The client felt happy with the outcome. Now, he loves showing off his top wines in the personalized cellar to friends and family. This stunning and modern wine cellar is definitely a topic of conversation among friends and colleagues.
PEG Wine Racks Tailored to Create a Modern Wine Display
The wine racks were both attractive and practical for organizing the client’s collection. Three columns of triple-deep metal wine racks by Vintage View were set up on wooden panels. These racks were made to highlight wine labels facing forward. The wine pegs on the sides create a floating effect for each bottle placed there. Meanwhile, the upright bottles in the center shine like prized vintages should.
What catches the eye are the mirror tiles positioned in the middle of the wine closet. The team dedicated considerable effort installing this stunning and radiant panel. Once completed, it brought attention and focus to the heart of the wine room. As for the central area, wine shelves were installed by Andre, who believed it would be the perfect way to present the wines in this section. The client intends to display specific wines here, ensuring that upon entering the modern glass wine cellar, all his exquisite wines are easily visible at the center.
Glass Doors and Lighting System Designed to Achieve a Modern Look
The glass door is a fantastic feature in this personalized wine cellar. It allows for easy viewing of the wine collection from the dining area. Additionally, the lighting system in the wine room offers excellent flexibility. It is adjustable, letting you set the mood according to your preference. The team strategically placed 2-inch recessed can lights on the ceiling. Andre chose LED bulbs to prevent emitting excess heat that could potentially affect the stored wines.
One key aspect of the lighting is its adaptability. If the client desires a bright light to display the wine collection, they can easily adjust the brightness level. On the other hand, for a softer, relaxed ambiance emanating from the wine cellar, they can achieve this by tweaking the dial. The control panel for the lighting was conveniently installed, enabling the client to adjust brightness without entering the wine cellar.

To prevent emitting excess heat that might harm stored wines, Andre decided to use LED light bulbs. An additional feature of the lighting system is its adjustable brightness. Whether the client prefers a bright light to display the wine collection or a softer ambient glow from the cellar, they can easily achieve this by adjusting the brightness level using a dial. The control panel for the lighting was installed for the client’s convenience, allowing them to adjust the brightness without the need to enter the wine cellar.Top of Form
