How the Float Wine Display System Transformed a Small Space into a Show-Stopping Contemporary Wine Cellar
More homeowners love the idea of investing in a wine cellar in their home for many reasons.
A well-built residential wine room keeps the wines safe from the harmful external factors, allows the wines to be accessed quickly, makes monitoring and organization an easy task, and provides a beautiful place for entertaining guests.
Blue Grouse Wine Cellars is one of our partners in wine cellar construction. They offer innovative wine storage solutions for every budget. They help wine collectors build a luxurious wine cellar without breaking the bank.
In one of their recent projects, they built a contemporary wine cellar in a small space in the client’s dining area using metal wine racks. The racking is called the Float Wine Display System, solely manufactured by Blue Grouse Wine Cellars.
Since the wine room project was part of the construction of the home, the owners were able to save on the cost. Their contractor prepared the room by installing the proper insulation on the walls. Blue Grouse Wine Cellars worked closely with the builder to ensure that everything was in place.
Features of the High-End Float Wine Display System
Blue Grouse Wine Cellars developed the Float Wine Display System method utilizing high-tension cables.
It is increasing in popularity among builders, interior designers, and homeowners because of its many advantages.
The Float Wine Display System stands out from the other contemporary wine storage systems in the market because of the distinctive appeal created using glass cradles. Another benefit of this metal racking is installation and design flexibility. You may set up diagonal formations, giving you more options for designing your wine display.
You may choose between neck-forward and label-forward bottle configurations. You may also combine them to meet your preferences.
The size of the glass plates provides a space for bottles of various sizes, including large formats. The vertical spacing of the bottles can be adjusted. A minimum of 4 feet will fit standard 750 ml bottles.
For the column width, the wine display with a neck-forward configuration requires a minimum width of 7 inches. The column width for the glass plates designed for label-forward configuration should be at least 13 inches. The standard length of the cables can be adjusted up to 10 feet high, but it can be increased or reduced depending on your needs.
Blue Grouse Wine Cellars installed the Float Wine Display System on the back wall of the contemporary wine cellar. The center of the wall consists of label-forward Float Wine Display racks flanked by two columns of neck-forward wine racks.
The Blue Grouse team made sure that the glass plates were spaced liberally to create a visually appealing display of the few bottles in the client’s collection. The homeowners can increase the storage capacity of their wine cellar by just adding more cradles or plates without affecting the stability and beauty of the existing racking. Since the Float Wine Display system could be installed on a drywall ceiling, Blue Grouse Wine Cellars had to drill at least ¾ inch to secure the backing to the floor and ceiling.
Features of the Wine Cellar Cooling System
The Blue Grouse team wanted to provide a cost-savvy wine cooling solution for this project to stay within the client’s budget. After making a careful assessment, they decided that a wine cooling unit from KoolR Magnum was the best option for the wine room.
It costs less than the other brands of wine refrigeration systems. It is made of high-quality components and offers superior cooling performance and simple installation. You do not need to hire an HVAC technician to install the equipment. You may seek the help of a regular contractor or builder.
The unit is self-contained, allowing the evaporator and condenser to be located separately. In this project, the evaporator was placed through a header above the entryway to allow the cold air to vent to and from the dining area.
It is concealed by a grill cover painted in black to complement the dark wall or panel in the modern wine cellar.
Glass Wine Cellar Doors
The wine cellar has a double frameless glass door. The measurements of the glass panels were made to fit the doorway perfectly with minimal gaps. The gaps were filled in using weather stripping, a vital sealing component for doors installed in climate-controlled wine cellars.
Remember that sealing the doors plays a vital role in achieving a stable environment in climate-controlled wine rooms. A lack of or poor insulation will cause temperature fluctuations and varying humidity levels, which can ruin your wine’s quality and the structural integrity of your wine room.
