Wine Cabinet Conversion Project: a Gorgeous Wine Cellar Design for a Small Space in a Condominium
In one of the small wine cellar design ideas from Blue Grouse Wine Cellars, they incorporated glass and wood elements to create a unique wine storage room in a tiny condominium.
The space was originally a 3-door custom wine cabinet in an open-plan dining and living area. Since the client’s collection was growing, the cabinet did not have sufficient space to store the wines, so the owners decided to invest in wine room with a higher capacity. The Blue Grouse team enlarged and reconfigured the space.
Wine Racks Styles Ideal for Modern Wine Cellar Designs
The left and right walls consist of individual wine racks at the top section and diamond bins at the bottom. A shaker-style cabinet was added to the racking on the back wall, intended for housing the wine cooling unit.
Above it are shallow shelves that can hold some of the client’s favorite bottles vertically while hiding the flexible ducting needed for the wine cooling unit. A high-reveal display row lines the middle of the walls, pitching the bottles at an angle.
Wood is a favorite material for wine racks. It adds a timeless appeal and relaxing ambiance to wine cellars. In this project, Blue Grouse Wine Cellars installed wine racks made from Walnut, a wood species known for its stability, versatility, and durability. The wood color ranges from light to dark brown hues and consists of beautiful grain patterns. The wine racks were oiled to achieve a richer and darker look.
Custom Glass Wine Cabinet: One of the Most Trending Small Wine Cellar Design Ideas for Small Spaces
In another project completed by Blue Grouse Wine Cellars, they built a custom glass wine cabinet. The owners love for contemporary design is shown in the interior of their home. They wanted to create a beautiful wine display that could be installed on the back wall of their dining area.
The Blur Grouse team presented small wine cellar design ideas to their clients, and they decided to go with a glass wine cabinet that would complement the existing décor of their property. The cabinet measures 8 feet wide x 1.5 feet deep and 8′ 4″ high. Space constraints did not stop them from creating a contemporary wine display that exceeded the client’s expectations.
Modern Racking Features Perfect for a Small Wine Cellar
The metal wine racks are enclosed in a custom wooden cabinet with a Satin Black stain to create harmony with the kitchen millwork. The wine cabinet boasts elegant metal wine racks from VintageView. Triple-deep racking was used to maximize the bottle capacity of the wine cellar. Since the wine racks are wall-mounted, no floor space was utilized, making them ideal for small and narrow spaces.
The metal wine racks are finished in Satin Black to go well with the dark cabinet. The label-forward configuration of the racking makes it easier to browse and read the wine labels.
Elegant Small Wine cellar Under the Stairs
One of the smart ways to utilize a space under the stairs is to build a custom wine cellar in it. In one of the wine cellar construction projects by Blue Grouse Wine Cellars, they completed the conversion of a small space under the stairs into an elegant wine cellar. The room measures 4 feet deep and 12.5 feet long.
Traditional Wine Racks
The wooden wine racks in this home wine cellar were made from Knotty Alder. This type of wood exhibits attractive knots and swirls. It gives the wine racks reddish brown color, which creates a rustic feel. The wine racks were applied with an Early American stain and lacquer finish.
The racking was installed on the back wall consisting of various racking styles. You will find individual wine racks and slot for a few magnums at the top section. The high reveal display row is located at the middle, pitching the bottles at an angle. Below it are lattice-style diamond bins.
